Hey there!
With the DVD release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen last week I figure there’s no better way to start off this blog than by doing some Transformers themed drinks.
My favorite character from Transformers is Tracks, a blue corvette stingray with a super sweet flame job on his hood. He’s a bit snooty... But since he’s once sweet piece of steel you can’t blame him. And did I forget to mention that he can fly? Yeah. He should feel awesome. On a fun note about the flying corvettes, a French airplane company actually made small jets named such. Apparently it was a bust though and only 40 were made. Can’t blame anyone on that since French planes have this propensity to suck. I think I could deal with it if I was in an Aerospatiale SN 601 Corvette though. Maybe.
So for G1 Tracks, I made this little drink:
"I'm fabulous, as is this drink, especially in night clubs!"
3 parts creme de banana
1 part blue curacao
1 part brandy
1 part berry vodka
½ part Goldschlaegger
1 marachino cherry
Pour the Creme de Banana into a cocktail glass then dropping in the cherry. Shake remaining ingredients with ice and strain then pour over a spoon gently into the glass to get a layered effect.
Now we come to ROTF, where Tracks is painted silver and called Sideswipe. I have no idea why as he acts like Tracks, he has the same alt mode as Tracks, and he is not much like Sideswipe. He’s Tracks in my book. And for the record, he didn’t get near enough screen time. Since he’s a little more slick and high society than his G1 counterpart I figure I’d give him a drink of a similar fashion. Looking for name suggestions for this one, current one is just a place holder really.
-Insert self satisfied smirk and possibly an eyebrow waggle-
4 parts berry vodka
1 part simple syrup
dash of Goldschlaegger
½ part blue curacao
Pour the blue curacao into a cocktail glass that has been chilled in the freezer. Mix remaining ingredients with ice and strain. Pour gently over spoon into glass. Works best if you also keep your vodkas in the freezer. Remember when drinking to smirk and think to yourself: "Damn I’m good."
As for alcohol choices, my only rule is to buy things that come in glass bottles. Never plastic. Never. Pinnacle and Seagrams make a good berry vodka and Seagrams and Finlandia are good plain. Hiram Walker makes a mighty fine creme de banana.
